- Decreased appetite
- Hoarse voice
- Reduced hearing / deafness

The commonest cause of hypothyroidism in the U.K. is autoimmune thyroiditis. When this occurs in combination with a goitre, it is referred to as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis.
